  1. This tour will guide you through FontArk basic functions

For detailed video instructions, please go to The basics page in the Tutorials at www.fontark.net.

  2. FontArk is made for multi Glyph editing

Operating it is most simple but controlling it well and understanding how it works may take some time.

    Patience is warmly recommended!

  3. How are the Glyphs connected?

The way you connect the Skeleton to the SmartiXs determine which parts of the Glyphs will be edited together in all of the Marked Glyphs!

  4. Mark the Glyphs you want to edit

Click on the upper grey part of the Glyph to Mark(select) it for editing. Click on the lower red Glyph part to make it appear in the Workarea.

  5. Skeleton layer

This is the initial work layer where you control character's Skeleton.

Progress as much as possible in this layer, editing and designing your font's Skeleton before moving to the Outline layer.

  6. Outline layer

This is the second work layer where you control the character's Outline.

In the current version of FontArk, changes made in the Outline layer are not saved should you go back and edit the Skeleton. So make sure you change the Outline layer LAST!

  7. Effects layer
